Where to Start With a Gap Assessment Before Accreditation
The preparation of the organization to the standard should not start with “to make a complete document” alone, but should begin with seeing the gap between the requirements, the work system and what actually happens on the job page.
1. Identify Scope and Target Standards
First assessing, it is clear that the organization is preparing for any standards such as JCI, DNV, ACI, HA or GMP, FDA, HACCP, HALAL, ISO and environmental standards according to the context of the organization.
2. Do Gap Assessment from the real work system.
Check the structure, policy, process, operation, proof and team understanding. To distinguish which points “there’s a system but they’re still unordinate” and which points “there’s no system supported.”
3. Order the importance
Not to solve everything at the same time. It should be grouped Critical Gap, Operational Gap and Documentation Gap and then set out the work owners and a clear timeline.
4. Convert the assessment to Improvement Roadmap.
A good roadmap needs to answer who does what, in when, what resources are needed and how to track progress.
5. Team preparation Not only document preparation.
Workshop for managers and operating teams, including on-site consultation, allows requests to be converted into more real work behavior.
